One of the most common mistakes most kingdom leaders make.
After developing many leaders both in ministry and the marketplace, one of the reoccurring mistakes I have noticed is pride and a proud heart towards God. I will be explaining it below so please continue to read on.
A Christian leader is a servant, one called by God and sent out by Yeshua which is the leadership process of being commissioned. However, in the process of the calling, I have noticed over the years that most leaders focus primarily on their gifting and the crowds that follow them. As a result of this, they’re often led by their own selfish ambition and desires to choose which office they would like to occupy often times motivated by the wrong reasons and entitlement. However, it is very important to understand that before God called us, He knew what He purposed us for and come to the understanding that we did not call ourselves which by this understanding would make it clear to individuals in ministry that positioning comes from God and not from ourselves and/or man.
Yet we see that most emerging leaders and established leaders take it upon themselves to position themselves and lead the people how they best see fit and then turn around and ask God to bless that which He has not called them to do.
I use the word called because the calling is not the sending commissioning of a leader. In reality though we unfortunately often see that this is where pride usually enters and a lot of mistakes are made here.
HOW TO AVOID THIS MISTAKE THAT CAN COST YOU YOUR BISHOPRIC
There is only one way to avoid this mistake and that is firstly to remain humble above all as pride is a sure and fast way to reach destruction.
Regardless of our age, influence, impact, anointing, or gifting, we must always humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God.
It is imperative for us to understand our callings before comparing ourselves to any other kingdom leaders and seek God wholeheartedly to understand what He is calling us to do and what we need in order to fulfil those mandates.
For example: For example: It could be that you are being called as a teacher to teach the word of God and explain it through revelation to the body of Christ and to the world through YouTube. Yet, you could decide that the office of the teacher is not fitting enough for you and therefore elect yourself to be in the office of the Pastor instead. To the carnal mind, there is no problem with this. Yet in the eyes our Father and in the kingdom of God and everyone you are called to, you could be leading them in error because God may not have called you to pastor and become a shepherd looking after the flock but rather called you to be the voice that teaches His word through revelational knowledge so that they grow and mature into the sons and daughters that He has called them to be. By doing the opposite of this is dangerous because not only could it affect or delay your destiny, but it could also affect the destinies of those the Lord sent you to.
A Pastors job description within the kingdom is to look after the flock so that there are no wolfs that will scatter the flock. Nevertheless, today we have leaders who are operating in man-chosen offices which is causing chaos and disorder within leadership and the church as a whole and no one is speaking out against this despite the harmful consequences.
The danger of this type of leadership is that it can lead to manipulating people, raging jealousy towards those who God is sending to you to help them to do what you what them to do because that is not your area or calling. This then means you were never even sent by God to deliver the people in whom you are trying to lead.
In order for us to all grow and mature as the body of Christ, we must go where we have been called by God and not by man, seek personal and spiritual development, understand the positions in which we have been called into as well as the individual gifts we have been given to by God to function in the offices in which we have been called to and only when we do this, then only truly then will we flourish like the tree of righteousness as the faithful word of God promises us.
You might be thinking how I know this it is because I have been there, I was under this type of leadership, where I was serving but they almost destroyed me if it was not by the grace of God and me knowing who I am as a kingdom leader.
Accept where you have been called by God, seek personal and spiritual development, understand that position, and the individual gifts you have been given to function in that office and then you will flourish like the tree of righteousness you should be.
